Another day, another ZHU remix. Or so it seems.
It’s actually a good thing. When everyone wants to remix your stuff, you know you’re hot. That’s amazing enough, but remember: no one really knows who ZHU is!
In this day and (digital) age, to remain anonymous at the same time as being hugely popular (“Faded” went platinum) is almost unheard of. Theories abound in the blogosphere, and he made a mystery appearance at a Sydney festival last month, but for now, the identity of ZHU remains a secret.
All could be revealed soon -- at least in New York City. I noticed on my morning commute yesterday some mysterious posters with the ZHU logo and two November dates. Just a hunch, but I’m thinking that whatever ZHU has planned for this city is going to be the hottest ticket in town.
Now getting back to this remix. The boys from RÜFÜS continue to show their hand as quality remixers in their own right. I totally dig the dark feel to this – it remains true to the ZHU aesthetic. This track builds to so that relentless deep house beat unleashes at full force. Paradise awaits indeed.
