For some reason or another, I've received roughly 6 press emails about Carousel's remix of "East Of Eden." While that's clearly excessive, I must confess that I'm actually really enjoying this combination.
Zella Day's past few tracks have been instant hits, with the original version of this picking up more than 20k plays on Indie Shuffle in the last month (wow). Clearly she's onto something promising, and the guys at Blah Blah Blah science have once again proven their genius in picking her up on their label (they also represent Jungle).
Carousel's remix introduces the LA outfits signature synth-pop sound to the song, a recipe that works quite nicely. In the past I've felt like their approach has gotten repetitive, but introducing female vocals (and a whole new melody) seems to have done the trick to win me over.
Overall? A good song.
