Why do we like this?
Spacey, minimalist, and introspective, Zari Stokes is set to catch some ears with his track "Fade Away." This 20-year-old artist hails from hip-hop hotbed New Orleans, Louisiana, which has produced some big namers like Lil Wayne, Curren$y, and G-Eazy -- just to name a few. The song is a somber reminiscence of numbing out hard times through substance abuse, yet it has a vibe you can sink into and slowly nod your head behind.

BLVD Blake, an up-and-coming producer out of Vancouver, Canada, supplies the chill beat. All in all, it's a nice collaboration and solid first release. With the persistence that's needed in this industry, and the right branding, Zari Stokes could carve out a nice little fan base for himself in 2014.
