Despite nearly thirty years in the game, Gilles Peterson still has his ear closer to the ground than just about anyone else.
That's proven with the latest act to gain Gilles' precious support, London duo Yussef Kamaal. With a name and sound that harps back to some of the 70s finest moments, it's no surprise he was a fan, and their smooth, jazzy sound is sure to win them plenty more fans over the coming months.
Comprised of Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams -- whose work as Henry Wu you may be familiar with -- the twosome has just released their debut album Black Focus, on Peterson's Brownswood label, with "Lowrider" a particular highlight.
You can get Black Focus in the format of your choosing here, and keep up-to-date with Yussef Kamaal via Facebook or Twitter.
