Firstly, I instantly recognized the word "Droog" because it's Russian for close friend. One of my best friends is from the Ukraine, so his contact name is saved as Droog in my phone. You definitely don't care about that, so let's talk music.
It was originally rumored that Your Old Droog was an alias for hip-hop legend, Nas. However, I thought, "Why would his name have a Russian word in it?" Turns out, Droog is not Nas and he emigrated from Ukraine as a child. He's currently releasing music anonymously.
I love Droog's music because when I first heard it, I thought it was from the '90s. It had an old school flow that we don't have the fortune of hearing often in popular hip-hop. His collaborations with MF Doom, Danny Brown, and Mach-Hommy prove his excellence. "Train Love" has a slight R&B progression, complete with a catchy chorus.
