Why do we like this?
If you're a Chrome Sparks fan, hang onto your seat. The group's keyboardist Jesse Brickel has started a side project under the name Young Yeller, releasing his second single "War" just this month.
The track is more on the indie pop side of things than his background may lead you to think, but it's undeniably a solid piece of music. With echoing vocals, tumbling drums, and a slowly building electronic beat, "War" conveys a sense of purpose and determination. There's emotion at every moment, but it's wrapped in resolve. This single shows a little more maturity and gravity than his first release, "1st Love," so it's nice to see the different facets of this talented artist.
