If you don't know Yolanda Be Cool by name, you sure as hell will know them by three little words: speak no Americano. 2010 found every single speaker in the world bumping the Australian duo's overly infectious single with absolutely no shame. On repeat for 3000 hours, who cares? Although I was a fervent promoter of the single initially, it got played out pretty quickly.
Relatively quiet since then, YBC just released a new single called "Foreign Affair." Right in line with the bubbly, catchy "We Speak No Americano," their newest single samples Manu Chao's "Clandestino" over some old world sounding pipes. There's a pretty epic bridge just short of the three minute mark, giving listeners a respite from Manu's awesomely quirky, very Spanish sounding voice.
Although they are releasing this single for streaming purposes, it will not be included on their upcoming album. Apparently the version to be included on the release will feature another mystery artist on vocals. Oh, the anticipation.
