Yoke Lore is a musical project by Brooklyn’s Adrian Galvin. A dancer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Galvin seems to be an uncompromising creative force. He also drew the artwork for his upcoming EP, Far Shore. With his imaginative dexterity, Adrian retains artistic control over all aspects of his project, maintaining purity of vision and exuding a one-of-a-kind voice.
Ghostly and beautiful, Yoke Lore's debut “Heavy Love” is a visceral track that will confront you with memories of your favorite ex's. The enchanting melody undulates through raw lyricism with sharp percussive accents. The vocals swim though a thick, foggy indie-pop layer giving the track a transcendental feeling. Full of wistful passion, this song evokes the bittersweet feeling of love weighing on your soul.
Here's what you have to look forward to from this artist:
"Yoke Lore is about connections and contact. Music is a medium for communicating ideas and identities and stories. Yoke Lore is a set of stories; a collection of mundane accounts of relationships between people and things. We use these stories both in times of dejection to find solace and in times of bliss in order to remember ourselves... Yoke Lore is a mythical language that gives voice to all of us who at times cannot articulate why living is so tough.”
A beautiful piece of storytelling, I suggest wholly devoting four minutes of your life to “Heavy Love”. Drift with it and preorder the debut EP, Far Shore, out May 6th on B3SCI.
