Brisbane-based duo YesYou (Jono Kirkham and Gav Parry) were highlighted as one of Triple J's Next Crop last year - a list which included the likes of Alpine, The Rubens, Oliver Tank, andSan Cisco. While these performers have all seen a huge spike in popularity, YesYou have been slower in their recognition.
After their single "Half of It" made waves throughout the music world, they've been working on their upcoming (debut) EP while also producing tracks for the likes of Jinja Safari and DZ Deathrays. They've also had time to support Electric Guest and Neon Indian in their new live four-piece format.
The busy twosome have just released a brand new single "Frivolous Life," which includes vocals from Jinja Safari's Marcus Azon. Again, it's synth-drenched and upbeat "“ while the addition of Azon's high-ranged vocals to YesYou's classy production is a masterstroke.
While they're yet to see the plaudits that some of their contemporaries are receiving, it's only a matter of time. Check out the clip for "Frivolous Life" below.
