Melbourne artist Yeo's back catalogue is pretty varied, although one thing is a constant: his ability to write a killer pop song. Late last year, his incredible track "Girl" was somewhat of a coming out party, with the track bringing the producer/vocalist mountains of praise. Now, with a new EP drawing closer, he's added another winner to his list with his new single "Kobe."
While not as deep and dark, this new release is just as satisfying, shifting back into more of a pop realm this time around. Sharp percussion and smooth synth arrangement make up the track's backbone, with plenty of color and an abundance of glittering guitar licks added in. The latter paves the way for Yeo's yearning vocals to take center stage, especially in the unbelievably catchy choruses, which you'll find yourself whistling along to before "Kobe" even finishes.
It's going to be a busy couple of months ahead for the talented artist; he'll soon be embarking on his first international expedition -- the upcoming Canadian Music Week. If you're in town, you can find all his showcase details here.
