There's something wonderfully wonky about this track. For those of us who relish an aging music format, you can almost imagine a tired, overused 8-track cassette recording being played in the background whilst British newcomer George Van De Broek warbles over the top.
In a world where everything's tropical house and downtempo EDM, this stands out in a positive way, offering an alternative to the alternative with a swagger and style missing from many fresh meat on your #NewMusicFriday.
Signed to London label Good Years (home to BANKS, Lil Silva and Mick Jenkins too),this is a happy sad song. An experimental emotional chameleon that fits a smile or a frown. It's subtlety addictive and a tick box for many of us who don't fancy a brand new hit by The Vamps this week ;-)
