La Mode est La Joie
French-pop is something I am so, so happy to have discovered as soon as I did. It is so joyful in its expressive use of story and language that I find myself enthralled by this bohemian house of the music genre and I am so happy to introduce this self-indulgent work.
Centering around the theme of almost "powering up" or rather becoming a person of "attitude" and confidence, "Noir" slams into the audio space with a simple rhythmic bass line that gets sewn and stitched into a joyful pop-centric tapestry of lyrics and noise. It's all centered around bohemian ideals of high fashion, art, and the idea of wearing black as a statement of formality, power, and a chic attitude.
I love this song not only because of the enthralling composition of the sound itself but also just for how unabashedly indulgent it is in itself, like fashion, it shapes and forms itself into the perfect fit of theme, character, and aesthetic.
