Yelle's new track "L'Amour Parfait" opens with the verse "I don't know what you mean, but it means a lot to me." Well, I can agree with half of that, as the rest of the song is in French. But thanks to a translation, the song's title simply means "Perfect Love." Just in time for Valentine's Day, right? Or no? Sifting through the translated lyrics, thanks to Yelle's
website, the song seems to have a darker undertone.
The French electronic pop band's new single has an unusual for Yelle, but warranted, hip-hop vibe. It's almost like they teamed up with Three Six Mafia on this track. Whatever they did, I like it. I also can't get out of my head how much the intro reminds me of Rick Ross' "Everday I'm Hustling."
Yelle has been on hiatus for a minute and I'm glad to see them out and about again. Their new EP should be available to buy in the US soon.
