Why do we like this?
London trio Years & Years dropped the single "Real" about a month ago, and although it wasn't quite my cup of tea, French producer LeMarquis has reworked it into a wondrous piece of disco pop. I'm definitely not surprised, because his work to date has been absolutely flawless.
The opening guitar licks set the tone for what is a funk-filled nu disco jam. As bouncy and synth driven as the original was, this remix adds that simple drop of tropicana necessary to transform it into a buoyant piece of catchy electro pop.
It does help to have some pretty amazing vocals to work with as well!
