Hooray! We finally have a new track from UK four-piece Glass Animals. Well, kind of.
Their debut album ZABA was one of my personal favorite releases of 2014, and here at Indie Shuffle, we certainly made no secret of our love for their seductively understated indie trip-hop.
According to the band, "Gold Lime" is basically a cover of two songs, smashed together into one. It's a cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's track "Gold Lion," with added samples from Erykah Badu's "The Healer." To steal their term, they took the song and "Glass Animalisified" it (listen to the original here), turning it into the scrumptious "Gold Lime."
This isn't the first time they've taken a song completely out of their genre, and turned it into something silky smooth. Last year, they released this incredible version of Kanye West's "Love Lockdown," after first performing it on Triple j's Like a Version.
