Why do we like this?
You may recognize NYC's vinyl-spinning, disco remixing DJ Jacques Renault from his popular remix of Midnight Magic's "Beam Me Up." Just our luck, he's back again, this time tackling Yacht's newest single "I Walked Alone."
The original track is very Yacht, vocals taking on more of a speaking quality versus singing with a choppy, emphatic jam-band sort of melody. It is abrupt and honestly a little silly making the most obvious statements ever, but it's catchy. Particularly enchanting is the chorus, which Jacques highlights in his version. With a smoother overall sounds and a persistent banging piano, the remix is an upgrade from the original track. Renault's got damn good ear for composition, exhibited yet again on this remix.
