Why do we like this?

I've been on a bit of a Caribou kick lately. Maybe it's the gloomy weather we're experiencing in Cape Town. Hard to put my finger on it exactly...

The timing's good for Mexico-based producer Xente though, because his new EP Newborn Sun has managed to hit the right notes for me.

Originally a saxophonist, the California-born artist behind Xente only just waded into the digital music world last year. The standout is probably "Dream Within A Dream." It's one of the darker songs in the 7-track set, but I think it's that familiar Caribou approach that has me coming back again and again.
