This is a release that really caught a lot of people off-guard when it dropped just over a week ago. The product of anonymous artist Wyatt (don't bother trying to find anything online -- trust me, I've looked), this self-titled EP is a glorious debut well worth a look.
What I have managed to track down are his links to Brisbane bands MTNS and the Art of Sleeping, and you can definitely see some of both in his recordings. While the whole EP is an absolutely glorious listen, I'll focus on "Places" for today. Echoing beats and spacious synth work are joined by dashes of twinkling piano, creating a cloudy soundscape you are bound to sink into. Wyatt's warm vocals are used to great effect, drifting effortlessly throughout the track.
Check out the whole Wyatt EP here -- hopefully this won't be the last we hear from this talented musician.
