Wulf ain't turnin' it down for nobody. Their new single "Fire" begins with a bang, powerful chords, heaving beats and a bluesy piano riff that reminds me of some of my favorite Jack White tracks.
The verse brings it down to a softer place, but only briefly. But they've managed to maintain the balance between quiet vocals and powerful rock guitars, akin to any stadium rock band a la Arctic Monkeys or early Muse.
There's an indie feel through some of the vocal areas, but it's overtaken by the bulging rock and blues vibes behind them. This is a great track with a wicked rhythm, a catchy melody, and booming drums. I have a feeling that 'Fire' will explode on the live stage.
This is a really impressive new track from the London trio. It will be featured on their forthcoming debut EP Lairs, due out spring 2015.
