Glasgow-based brainiac Wuh Oh is unapologetically back with a new release on Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs, equally as energetic and entertaining as his first release over there, "Wolverines." The new one, "Hairstyle," pays homage to his roots in classical music, while staying true to his fun side and just generally trying to be as authentic as possible.
"I frantically wrote 'Hairstyle' the night before its first play at a show in Glasgow. Going through a classical music degree instilled in me an unshakeable urge to write music that’s super technical and intellectually stimulating but sometimes this isn’t conducive to creating something that feels pure, true and from the heart. For me, it's like communicating in English: you can use as many fancy words as you want, but it can't truly express what you're saying if there isn't some graspable meaning or sincerity of feeling. With this track I somehow managed to satisfy all of the desires of my naggy creative mind for a moment."
His analogy of using high brow words when speaking in the English language really spoke to me, as I'm one to sit here and write the most simple bullshit, only because the song is what really matters here. With this one, I'll continue that pattern by telling you, this is really fucking good.
