Why do we like this?
This is one of those songs that is so minimal, you swear you could have written it yourself -- but then again, it's so well put together that you quickly realize you probably couldn't have.
It's all down to the foolproof bass line, thin, punchy beat, and washed-out male/female vocals that quickly lock into a solid groove, supported by organ stabs and swirls. There are loads of space left in the track, but it speaks to the band's creative sensitivity that they left that space intentionally blank. It just makes the song that much more up close and personal.
"The Good In Goodbye" is off Work Drugs' seventh album, Insurgents, released in March 2014.
