Why do we like this?

Wolf Parade are indie rock veterans, so when new songs pop up from their camp you can bet your buttons that diehards within the genre will all scramble to have a listen.

Case in point: when I saw "Valley Boy" pop up I rushed over to hit play. And I must confess it was a pretty interesting experience...

My first reaction was that the song was safe; almost too classic. But there's a nice bit in the middle that keeps it interesting, which is ultimately the reason I'm blogging it today.

The song will appear on an album called Cry Cry Cry, coming out later this year.
