Wolf Colony is an anonymous artist based in New York who has been collaborating with producer Neal Sarin since 2012. Known for his relatively simple arrangements, his music weaves musical bare essentials with intimate lyrics, and the results are delightful.
"The One" is indie pop through and through, but the beauty of it is that it doesn't sound like anything else. The vibrant melody has a velvety richness, while the charming yet sparse instrumentation complements each phrase perfectly. While it may not be the world's most exciting song, there's something so genuine and heartfelt about it, and it really just puts a smile on your face.
The single came out last year, but he's just released a gorgeous video clip, featuring real life people and inspired by the Humans of New York photo series. Watch it here.
Wolf Colony is set to release his debut album, Unmasked, later this year.
