Why do we like this?
Duncan Murray first popped up on my radar with his amazing remix of Daughter's "Smother," so I wasn't surprised that when he approached for the premiere of his next song, it was a remix of Wolf Alice's "Blush."
Clocking in at just under six minutes, Duncan's rendition beautifully highlights female vocalist Ellie Rowsell, who fronts the four-piece London-based band. There's a slow build-up that segues into soothing rhythm, and a repetitive guitar lick that absolutely puts me into a state of relaxation. The parallels to the aforementioned "Smother" remix are undeniable. Oh, and it's available for free download here.
You can find the original version of "Blush" on the band's Blush EP here, released in October of this year via Chess Club.
