Why do we like this?

Melbourne electronic quartet Winterplan are back with the release of their double single "SS/AICD."

The synth-pop act have taken things in a new direction with these two tracks, veering into dystopian Kraftwerk territory.

"SS" took me a few listens; it's a pulsating electro-pop production with flashes of the 90s post-rave scene, but it's "AICD" that gets the two thumbs up.

It's the type of song I believe the machines will make when they finally take over the world. The robotic vocals mechanically chant over an artificial beat that feels like it will never end, but in a good way. 

Both tracks are set to be featured on Winterplan's forthcoming medically-themed EP.
