Why do we like this?

I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of some new Wild Child sounds, and here we are... finally!

This new single, "Crazy Bird," is a bit more upbeat compared to their older stuff, but that doesn't make it any less amazing. Quite the opposite, actually! It definitely sounds to me like Wild Child is breaking out of their shell even more.

The hook on the track is a lovely whistle-along, and it does indeed hook you in. The sweet boy-girl harmonies glide gently above the sweet sounds of the strings while the bass and piano slither below. The beat is more contained, which binds quite well against the orchestral indie folk horn section and overall composition of this track.

I'm all giddy and wide-eyed as I try to imagine what more Wild Child can bring to the table with their upcoming album, The Runaround, due out on October 8. I think it's going to be quite the pleasant surprise!
