One of the reasons why I love Indie Shuffle is because years ago it introduced me to Wild Belle, a brother-sister reggae duo. Fast forward six years, and here I am reviewing that same artist. I have never not liked a song from them and it looks like that still holds true.
Wild Belle returns with "Mockingbird." They have been teasing this track and video for weeks now and I'm glad to say that it lived up to my expectations. Natalie's voice is so unique that it pulls you in and once it does you can't stop asking for more of it. Elliot's sax solo is wonderful and basically a standard in most Wild Belle songs. If there's one word I can use to describe this song, it's vibe.
What I love about Wild Belle is that they don't try to over do things. They stick to what they know. Now I'm not saying that they don't experiment, because they do (listen to their last album Dreamland). But they know what they're good at, and what they're good at is making reggae indie bops.
