Why do we like this?
I hope you're as excited as I am for Wild Beasts' fourth album, Present Tense, set to release on February 24.
Their debut single "Wanderlust" is an excellent preview into what this next album may entail, which seems electronically plush and slightly dark. This track is drenched in deep bass, synth effects, and echoing vocals used as instruments --they all weave throughout each other, eventually swimming in a pool of beautifully orchestrated arrangements. That well-known falsetto holds its own above all else, and before you know it, you're happily drifting to a comfortably dark fantasy.
Wild Beasts' Present Tense should be a pleasant surprise.
