"GLEAM AND BARK" by WHY NOT is the perfect track to tap your toes to while slouching in your armchair by the heater.
No stranger to experimenting with sounds, the Minneapolis trio has created a genre-fluid track that combines Hippo Campus-esque warm indie with instrumentation that has a bit of bluegrass to it. The upbeat drums, twangy strums, and cozy vocals contribute to a comfy, homey feel.
“GLEAM AND BARK” feels like sitting in a dimly lit room by the kitchen window, sipping coffee and staring outside at the falling leaves and rain. Despite the laid-back feel, the track maintains a playful, fun-loving spirit, matching its cute music video in which the band members try to help a vacuum shop owner meet a sales goal.
Included with the single release of "GLEAM AND BARK" and previously released as a single on its own was the entertainingly named track “WEEDMONEYSTRESSCRY.” WHY NOT (pun intended) give that a listen as well?
