Why do we like this?
WHIM is the solo project of New Zealand based singer-songwriter Deanne Krieg. WHIM came to life in 2015, when Deanne’s experiences writing for folk band Ida Lune and electronic producer Pacific Heights fused together to create an amalgamation of vocal based electronic pop.
Drawing from her love for the beauty in all things water color, melancholic, and honest, WHIM collects beautiful, downtempo sounds in her debut EP, Hiraeth.
"Alpine Metaphor" is a lovely offering, gorgeous in its simplicity and looped verses. Glitchy sounds click in and out of the spacey production, which swells with heavy synths and then falls away. The more I listen, the more I love it!
