Whilk And Misky first caught my attention back in 2014 with an infectious folk song called "Clap Your Hands." If I were to compare that release to this one, well it'd go something like this...
Holy guacamole! Are these two songs from the same band?!?! I mean sure, the vocals hold a common thread, but that instrumentation and musical approach couldn't be any more different!
Sure enough, UK duo Whilk And Misky are showboating their creative range, this time adopting the form of a dark, underground electronic sound that finds itself well-suited for the winter weather we have here.
The only burning question left in my head is: how does that translate to a live performance? If you're curious, be sure to catch the band July 8th, when they'll be playing their debut headling show at Birthdays in Dalston (a venue I once watched Chrome Sparks play, if memory serves me correct).
Basically, if you live in London, you shoud be there.
