I covered Whethan's first ever release last December. Actually I did more than just cover it, I premiered it to the entire world.
It's always nice to go full circle with an artist. Oftentimes when you premiere something from a brand new artist, you never really know where they'll go next, what the rest of their stuff sounds like or how they might be received.
Not that I had anything to worry about with Whethan. Back then was known as Wheathin after changing his name slightly to be more like his real name (it's Ethan).
That remix I premiered? It's awesome and rightly netted over 2 million streams on SoundCloud. Ethan's gone on to drop a steady stream of remixes since. He's honed his live show to win over an army of young fans and all in the space of a few months.
What's epic today is the release of his first ever original track "Can't Hide" featuring playful whistling, brass undertones and vocals from Ashe. Don't forget this young man is just 17 years old.
