Sounds like:
James Blake,
Romaré
Why do we like this?
Up-and-coming Manchester producer Werkha fuses the elements of James Blake's post-dubstep with the African sounds you might have heard from the likes of Romare.
He describes himself as being brought up on UK bass, Afrobeat, soul, classical, folk and jazz music, and this melting pot of sounds are evident in his first release. Combining little touches of all the above, Werkha's sound is one of the more melodic versions of UK Bass music we've heard in a while.
Cube & Puzzle is out now.
