Why do we like this?
Believe it or not, almost a year has passed since Waterstrider made their first (and up until now only) appearance on Indie Shuffle. The track in question was a beautiful cover of Little Dragon's "Twice" that almost made our list as one of the year's best covers.
Today, the band are back with the first single off their upcoming debut album Nowhere Now.
"White Light" is a through-and-through indie rock track that, at times, reminds me a bit of The Mars Volta (perhaps it's in the lead singer's voice?). The delicate guitar finger-work finds itself punctuated by the occasional burst of energy, all of which is likely to find favor among those who dig good band-driven music-making.
