I've been enjoying music in genre waves lately -- I find an artist, fall in love with what they're doing, and then remember all the other artists of that same genre I enjoy and proceed to listen to all their music, and any other related thing I can find. And so it goes.
In this same way, I stumbled across wash., the project of 18-year old Brisbane musician, Aaron Moore, who is also the keyboardist for Vancouver Sleep Clinic.
Now if you know anything about VSC, you'll understand that they do ambient, electronic folk, and very well. I think Moore must have something to do with this, because "Oh I'm Searching" is a lovely, gently ambient, and generally heartfelt track, which carries no airs or graces.
Beautiful use of layers and instrumentation, breathy, well timed harmonies and effortless simplicity make this third offering from wash. a firm favorite, joining my growing list of Aussie notables.
