Why do we like this?
Singer Matthew Melton disbanded his garage rock outfit Bare Wires and immediately put all his weight behind his new band Warm Soda. Musically, there doesn't seem to be much of a disconnect between the two. To me it sounds like the same-old cool garage rock he's always been putting out. And in just a short couple of weeks, Oakland's Warm Soda will be releasing their debut album, Someone For You, on CastleFace records.
This track, "Spellbound," is the second single released for the upcoming album, which is slated for a February release. Melton's voice howls over the thrashing guitar, almost reminiscent of Thin Lizzy's later career album, Chinatown.
I can't wait to put on the rest of this album and rock out to it!
