Why do we like this?
I love how the MadTech Records bio starts by saying, "In 1992 Kerri Chandler had a vision. A vision of deep, heartfelt, meaningful music." How befitting then, the latest release is an EP titled Heaven.

Sheffield-based producer Josh Gregory, aka Walter Ego (not to be confused with the 2005 Canadian sitcom pilot), joins the roster -- among label mates like Citizen, Voyeur and No Artificial Colours -- with this tasteful addition to neo-classic house.

The title track "Heaven" is a slow burner with airy pads and bright percussive elements that dip in and out of darker tones like clouds racing across the sun. Walter Ego never leaves you in the shadows for too long, though -- the soulful vocal keeps the sunny love vibes front and center.
