Why do we like this?
I feel a little bad for not knowing about Vancouver's folk pop Wake Owl until now, but this single "Candy" that they just dropped has thrown me into an absolute frenzy.
The single is incredibly playful and sultry, and just ticks all the right boxes for me. By the 10 second mark those smooth guitar lines had me sold, and there was literally no going back. After about a minute, frontman Colyn Cameron's falsetto vocals kick in, and by this stage you know you've found something pretty special.
The single is taken off their debut album The Private World of Paradise due for release in March 4, 2014.
