Bit of an unusual Song of the Day here on Indie Shuffle: we're premiering new work by Wait What, a Bay Area mashup artist who experienced breakout success on the blogosphere with a mashup of The Xx and Biggy. His follow-up mixtape, "This Is Real Life", will be released on August 31, and features mashups of Crystal Castles vs. Drake, Miike Snow vs. DMX, Placebo vs. Eminem, and a whooping 16 more tracks.
Considering the web's insatiable thirst for mashups, we're debuting two of these tracks today, and two in a few more days. Wait What will be releasing the album with a show in SF on August 31. Purchases will be made on pay-as-you-wish basis, with all proceeds going to Dave Eggers' youth writing non-profit, 826 Valencia. Pretty sweet deal, right?
