Skating sidelong and into view, Vundabar is full of spunk and disheveled glam. The group's new track "Diver" is the second single to come out in anticipation of their new album, Smell Smoke, which is scheduled to hit shelves in early 2018.
The three-man band has always known how to expertly stitch together the fuzz of distortion with the tender clarity of a vocalist confessing his punk rock sins. This new single is no different. Vundabar once again makes practiced garage thrashing look like a walk in the park.
"I am a diver / cuz I couldn’t take the air." Coated in a malaise refrain, the tempo pulsates and guitars twang to the nth degree. As the vocals rise and fall in intensity, so does the seductively harsh and sordid percussion.
