Why do we like this?

Even though I don't like BANKS, I've gone ahead and used her in the "sounds like section." Frankly, I think Portishead is a much better comparison for what's going on here, but I figure for familiarity's sake, the BANKS reference is useful.

Okay, all that aside, Vök. Who are they? They're a dark electronic act out of Iceland. They're releasing a new album called Figure on April 28th, and this comes as the latest taste. It's simple but smooth. Bottom line is that I dig it enough to blog it, which is why we're here now.
