Why do we like this?
Riding high on the back of Iceland's 2013 Airwaves Festival that they played just weeks ago, native duo Vök are emerging as a veritable force to be reckoned with.
Featuring moody, atmospheric guitar work comparable to that of The xx, and overseen by bold yet breathy female vocals in the style of The Knife, "Before" is a winning track defined by low-key electric elements that are likely to cater to all electronic tastes. Formed only in February of this year, members Margrét Rán Magnúsdóttir and Andri Már Enoksson are already winners of The Icelandic Music Experiments, following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Samaris, and are fast looking set to become Iceland's hottest new export.
