Psychemagik is a duo who describe themselves as being "known for their beautiful production work, prolific remixing skills, obscenely vast record collections, and transcendent mixtape journeys." Their recent remix of "The Waves" from Villagers' 2013 LP undoubtedly falls into their self-assed persona.
Leaning on the slightly creepy, storytelling-esque vocals, this remix is epic in the most literal sense. A harrowing beat complete with staccato piano notes, gyrating synths, and sticky bass makes a blustry fall day seem like nothing compared to this production. Shall we call it dark disco?
Check out the trippy video for the original just below. Tripping is a certainty that if you listen to this remix for too long on loop, that's for sure.
