Listening to Daniel Caesar recently has reminded me of another artist I found around the same time, Vicktor Taiwò.
Now I am very aware that I gush about music a fair bit, and my friends get pretty sick of me sending them every single song I fall in love with. But for some reason, when I found this one, I kept it to myself.
The forlorn, desolate nature of "Digital Kids" touched me in a way that very few modern songs have. In an imperfect world, this song is pure perfection. Every backing vocal, drum beat, and synth is placed exactly where it needs to be.
Taken from the JUNO EP, the track is produced by Felix Joseph, and features an exquisite rap/spoken word section at the end which I honestly cannot deal with.
Possibly my worst piece of music writing when it comes to objectivity, but I'm sure you'll be able to forgive me once you hear this track and comprehend the sheer beauty of it.
