Why do we like this?
Vic Mensa was one of the standout independent rappers of last year, and looks set to continue his rise through the ranks if "Feel That" is anything to go by. Over a minimalistic Smoko Ono production, the Chicago rapper is in party mood, dropping rhymes about drugs, cash, and women, all with his usual lyrical wit.
As Stereogum pointed out, "Feel That" is much closer to southern strip club rap than Chicago's weed rhymes Mensa and good friend Chance The Rapper have mastered. While a change of pace, it demonstrates Mensa's versatility, and 2014 is looking set to be another big year in the young rapper's burgeoning career.
