A year ago, I discovered infectious indie pop singer VÉRITÉ through her track "Colors" and it was an instant crush. Since then the 26-year-old NY-based songstress has kept busy, preparing her new Living EP dropping on May 6.
"Gesture" is one of the five tracks from this highly expected EP (it's getting unanimous critical praise), and it's by far the most R&B-oriented song from VÉRITÉ. Blunt, stripped down instrumentals make the listener focus on Kelsey Byrne's evocative lyrics.
About this track, VÉRITÉ says:
"Gesture" was about making it uncomfortably exposed from the production to the lyrics and vocals. Conceptually, it follows the same formula as the rest of the tracks on the EP; taking a single moment and magnifying, dissecting and overanalyzing it.
