Why do we like this?

Velvet Morning is the brain child of 20-year-old wonderkid Samuel Jones. Along with band members Charlie Carmichael, Jordan Dreadman, and John Kirkwood, Velvet Morning create a haze of atmospheric psychedelia that will have you hooked.

"Blue Jean Baby" is a soul-quenching splash of experimental psych-rock taken from their forthcoming debut, Gorilla. Jones' washed out vocals hover between the rhythmic guitar work and gentle percussion that fuel "Blue Jean Baby."

This track is just one of 12 that make up Gorilla. As Jones explains, he “wanted to make something as subtly smooth as possible and then build on the songs after. How I saw it in my head was to take something classic sounding and make it sound kind of deranged in the writing process.”

Gorilla is set for a June 30 release.
