Why do we like this?
Any artist pitching their work as sounding like Onra, Madlib, and Dilla has my ear for a good half a minute. But I guess anyone could say they sounded like these guys. Fortunately, Vanilla does. I think this is most comparable to one of Dilla's beat tapes. (They're exceedingly hard to find anywhere, so you'll have to take my word for it.) In other words, this is some good stuff -- a relaxing 27-track album of soul samples. Polished production from a relative unknown beginner.
If I knew any more, I'd be sharing more, but all I can say is that Vanilla is British. He also promises more stuff to come, which we're looking forward to!
You can either get this album free on Vanilla's Bandcamp, or Mediafire -- both links courtesy of the man(?) himself.
