Earlier last week we posted "
Phone Sex," the Blood Diamonds x Grimes track that was reworked by Edinburgh producer, Unicorn Kid. Today, we are serving up a new slice of the unicorn pie with his latest glamed-out rendition of Van She's "Jamaica."
While the cosmic tropical percussions of Van She's version are still present, the productions tinker on the lines of rave music with massive dancefloor appeal, warped layers of intense pounding electronics and sunny, kicked-up vocal samples. Moving between dance, house and electro genres to "Happy Hardcore," Unicorn Kid masterfully has implemented the fusion of genres into his tunes with an eclectic array of graphic beats. Whether you are listening to the original or the souped-up remixes, "Jamaica" never fails to keep you dancing and will guarantee a fist-pumping good time no matter what the occasion may be.
The
Jamaica Remixes EP is out now, featuring remixes from Unicorn Kid, Mad Professor, L-Vis 1990, Plastic Plates and Riva Starr. Don't forget to check out Van She's sophomore album
Idea of Happiness which just dropped this week.
