Indie rockers Valley Queen have another single doing the rounds ahead of the release of debut album Supergiant.
"Boiling Water" is "inspired by a passage on mindfulness" and features fuzzy guitars and front-woman Natalie Carol's hard hitting vocals.
Although short at just two minutes, "Boiling Water" is a gut punching shot of rock that leaves you wanting more. Speaking with Paste Carol had this to say about the tune:
The lyrics actually came from a book by Bhante Henopola Gunaratana on mindfulness. Shawn got the idea of the refrain of “your mind is on fire / it’s like boiling water / give it all to me and it’s gone” idea from that text a long time ago and we re-approached the song when I just went in and read the symptoms of your mind being like boiling water. The song expresses that state of mind and relating to that sensation
Supergiant is set for release July 13.
